Dr. Jan has been actively involved in dog sports since 1993. She began with Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, then competing with Beagles over the last 15 years. She has competed in conformation, agility, obedience, rally, tracking, retriever hunt tests, and beagle field trials, and is an AKC agility judge.
Dr. Jan graduated from University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She received her acupuncture training in 1999 from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and started her own integrative practice in Florida that same year. In 2005 she added Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) to her skills, and acquired her canine rehab training from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in 2012. In the Fall of 2014, she sold her practice in Florida and moved to the mountains of northern Virginia. It only seemed natural to combine her veterinary skills with her interest in dog sports, so she established K9 Movement Improvement in 2015.
